What a find! We never expected to find a restaurant with such an extensive menu and such reasonable prices in Pearcy, Arkansas. Our meals have been fantastic and the service is extradordinary. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

My family consists of three generations of picky eaters, but we never have a problem when we eat at the Rocky Mountain Grill. There is such a variety that there is always something for everyone. We especially say "hooray" for the buffet where we love to select our personal favorites. The salad is always crisp and the entreés are always hot and fresh. Keep it coming RMG!
Rocky Mountain Grill is, by far, the best family restaurant in the area. The great food, friendly atmosphere and excellent service keep us coming back for more. Bryan sets out a great seafood buffet on Thursday evenings and we love the new pub (Melissa makes the best Long Island Tea!) to sit and relax or watch the Hawgs!
Another great meal at Rocky Mountain Grill.
Great meal tonight...as always.

If you are like me, you are always looking for new food adventures in Hot Springs. I love the idea of "shopping locally", especially when dining out. I tire of the same old food that chain restaurants offer, and if I spend my hard earned money on taking my family out for the evening, I want good, quality food and lots of options for all of my picky eaters. If this sounds like you, I suggest for your next night out giving Rocky Mountain Grill a try. It is nestled on a mountainside on highway 70 heading towards Glenwood in Pearcy, which makes it convenient for patrons from Hot Springs, Glenwood, Royal, Bismark or Mt. Ida.
I had heard rumors that Rocky Mountain Grill's steak was second to none in the area. In fact, as I asked around and it was clear that they have quite a local following. Their motto is "home-style fine dining", and I was pleasantly surprised by not only the food, but also the friendly atmosphere and fantastic service when I ventured out to check it out for myself.
During our visit, we sampled a few of the appetizers offered on the nightly menu. Among our favorites were the crab stuffed mushrooms, which were white mushrooms stuffed with lump crabmeat and topped with a delicious, creamy white cheese sauce. These could have sufficed as my meal, but I shared with my friends. I don't normally get very excited about chicken tenders, however, these were also on our sampler platter and they were excellent. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, hand battered and tender. We also sampled shrimp a couple of different ways. I tried to pick a favorite, but it was impossible. One was a jumbo gulf shrimp that was lightly breaded in Bryan's own zesty, New Orleans style breading and the other was perfectly battered. Either choice is a great one. Our entire appetizer selection was a delightful melange of flavors and textures that really hit the spot.
We then moved on to the main course and were certainly not disappointed there. One of the stars of their menu is a cold smoked ribeye steak. It was once a weekly special, but is now on the menu nightly because it was such a popular item. Owner and Chef, Bryan Johnson, explained the process to me about how the process of cold smoking works. "First of all, I use only USDA Choice meats that are aged for a full 21 days or longer. Then I cold smoke the meat, which means I smoke the meat indirectly to infuse the smoke flavor, but it doesn't actually cook the meat. This process takes at least three hours. These steaks are then grilled to order." Among the other options for entrees is Rocky Mountain's own version of St. Louis style ribs, which are smoked and then finished on the grill with a sweet and spicy barbeque sauce. The meat on these literally falls of the bone. They also offer a good selection of seafood ranging from fried oysters to a crab stuffed mahi mahi to a grilled tilapia. They also have delicious catfish brought in daily for the freshest, best flavors around which Bryan can fry up or grill to perfection. Each table also gets a loaf of hot, fresh baked bread and whipped butter that is the perfect accompaniment to every meal.
Luckily, we saved room for dessert. Oh my goodness! The desserts! These little gems aren't on the menu because Bryan likes to mix it up and offer lots of different choices throughout the year. The night we were there, we sampled a white chocolate bread pudding with a white chocolate whiskey sauce that was delectable. It was not too soggy and had the perfect blend of spice and sweet. We also indulged ourselves with a triple chocolate brownie that was topped with vanilla ice cream and fresh cream. This ooey-gooey masterpiece will knock your socks off! Bryan also makes homemade fried pies that are as good as the ones your grandma used to make. Seriously, the desserts were out of this world! Bryan Johnson has literally been in the restaurant business all of his working life. Along the way he has learned all of the ins-and-outs of the business and had very masterfully put his own touch on his restaurant. He prides himself on offering the best quality food he can find, while maintaining a comfortable and friendly atmosphere to dine in. The selections are many and varied and the prices are very reasonable. In fact, I would say the prices are a down right bargain based on what you get. In addition to the regular menu, Rocky Mountain Grill hosts a seafood buffet on Thursday nights and a Sunday morning country buffet that I am anxious to try out soon. Bryan promises, "It is the best value and best eatin' in the state." Rocky Mountain Grill also features a full service bar, called "The Pub" that offers up tasty libations nightly. So the next time you're trying to find a place for date night or even to treat your family, give Rocky Mountain Grill a try. They are open Wednesday through Saturday for evening dining and on Sundays they are open from 11:00-3:00 for the country buffet. With the good quality, nice atmosphere and reasonable prices, I would be willing to bet that your whole crew will leave happy!
